Forensic audit needed
The Public Guardian and Trustee (PGT) manages the finances of some of Ontario’s most vulnerable citizens (Public Guardian Official Suspected in Theft – Aug. 9) including seniors, individuals with mental illness, developmental disability or brain injury.
It is imperative that the Attorney General provide more information about a former PGT official’s alleged thievery. Every PGT client should be given an audited statement of their assets following a forensic audit of all accounts under the management of this government office. Now is the time to review the operations of all institutions that manage the finances of some of Ontario’s most vulnerable people.
