Opportunities to work with PPAO

From time to time there are positions available with the PPAO at our head office, in one of the 10 field offices, or in the community-based Rights Advice Service in various communities across Ontario. Some positions will appear only on our homepage. Check back frequently for new opportunities.

Opportunities to be a Rights Adviser under the Mental Health Act

The Psychiatric Patient Advocate Office is looking for individuals to work as Rights Advisers in various locations in the province. Rights Advisers provide rights advice to inpatients of psychiatric facilities and individuals being considered for a community treatment order and their substitute decision-makers, if any. The bulk of the rights advice is provided to inpatients of general hospital mental health units or specialty hospitals. Individuals must attend and pass a training course before they can be designated as Rights Advisers.

We will post advertisements for the positions on this website in the future.
Please do not send a resume until the positions and the instructions for applying have been posted.
